Balm Valley is a real place near Boone, North Carolina: Beach Mountain in the distance, the creek running through rhododendron. It's also a frequency. A balm is something that soothes, that heals. The valley is a receiver: a place where signals from around the world are gathered and given space to resonate. BVA doesn't broadcast from the Balm Valley so much as it broadcasts the Balm Valley: a way of listening that treats every signal as worthy of attention.
